The Ukrainian Ambassador to Ireland will visit Drumshanbo on the third of December.
The Ambassador will attend a special concert in the Mayflower featuring participants in the Drumshanbo Traditional Irish Music Course, as well as members of the Ukrainian Community of Drumshanbo.
The visit comes off the back of recent figures that show Leitrim accommodates the highest amount of Ukrainian refugees in the region at 820.
Yvonne Judge of the Ukrainian Civil Society Forum says communities accommodating Ukrainians need to be supported.
"There are communities like Kiltullagh, like Drumshanbo, like Ballyvaughan, like Inishowen who have had major influxes of people and have done extraordinary jobs. They need to be, not compensated, but supported. Transport is a really obvious one. Everyone needs local transport let alone the new arrivals. We would love to see investment in community centres and possibly local health centres or local social welfare offices. That would be of enormous benefit to the community".
