Residents in Drumshanbo are raising concerns over plans to develop a large carpark at Acres Lake.
The November meeting of Carrick on Shannon's M.D heard that locals had recently met with Council officials who say they will take their observations into consideration.
Councillor Des Guckian said the development of a 70 space car park is unnecessary.
However, the local authority believe that the proposed water sport facilities at the amenity means there is significant demand for additional spaces.
This month's meeting was told that some residents believe the car park poses a threat to the peace, quiet and rights of those living in the Drumduff North area.
While the project is currently going through the public consultation process, it is not expected to be completed until February 2022 due to an Environmental Assessment report required by An Bord Pleanála.
