Household energy use at certain times of day is to be targeted amid warnings of power blackouts this winter.
The Irish Independent reports the Energy Regulator is concerned that the risk of power outages is growing.
The paper says energy company's have been ordered to find ways to curb peak-time power surges between 5 and 7pm each day, with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities saying 'behavioural change' needs to happen quickly as there is a 'significant risk' to supply.
