The Chairperson of the Ballinamore Area Community Council is giving a cautious welcome to the beginning of Day Care Services at the community care centre.
The centre cost over €6 million to build and first opened in 2014 for primary care, with the nursing facility opening in 2016.
Mairin Martin who's Chair of the Community Council says they've sought meetings for some time now with the HSE over the opening of Day Services and are happy to see it is finally happening.
The Day Service will also cater for several people from the Mohill area after their local facilities were deemed unsuitable in recent months.
Mairin Martin says it's not clear how many people from Ballinamore will be able to access the service initially.
