Residents in parts of South Roscommon are raising concerns over the quality of their water in recent days.
Customers on the supply in the Monksland and Beallnamulla areas claim the water is white in colour with a strong smell.
In a statement to Shannonside FM Irish Water say there were two bursts in Monksland on Saturday and on Monday.
They say the milk colour in the supply after an interruption indicates air in the lines and the water should run clear within minutes.
Any customers who continue to experience problems should contact Irish Water's customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.
However, Local resident Paddy Costello says it's a re-occurring problem and he feels the water is not fit for human consumption.
It's an ongoing problem with the water.
I mean its not the first time. The water is unbelievable, you get a smell off it and everything.
I don't know whats causing it, I wouldn't drink it at all, we actually buy bottled water.
People tell you the water is OK to drink but its certainly not out here. it shouldn't be coming out of our water system.
