A local councillor says he has serious safety concerns in relation to a junction close to Tarmon National School on the outskirts of Castlerea.
Nigel Dineen says he's received numerous complaints from residents about the condition of the road surface, and the sewers.
He's reported his concerns to Roscommon County Council who have said they will investigate the situation.
The Independent councillor says there's a lot of traffic in the area, especially during school times, and parents are very anxious that improvements are carried out as soon as possible.
'We had talked to a number of parents attending the school that would be about 150 pupils attending the school so obviously on any given morning five days a week you have a lot of traffic entering the school coming from the Castlerea , Castleplunkett side and Tarmon. So there is a lot of traffic coming so we want to make it safer for everyone. Roscommon County Council are looking into it.'
