There are concerns that a temporary solution to the Lough Funshinagh flooding crisis won't be in place before December. OPW Minister Kieran O'Donnell met with residents and local politicians in Roscommon town this morning. He confirmed that a planning application for a temporary solution will be submitted to An Bord Pleanála tomorrow.
Once the application is submitted, there is a statutory process of 6 weeks before the application can get the green light. Minister Kieran O'Donnell says should the application be approved, they hope to have a temporary pipeline and pumps in place within a 3 week period:
