A conference which aims to highlight biochar and carbon products will take place in Leitrim this week.
It's being organised by The Irish Bioenergy Association with a number of speakers taking part in the discussion.
Biochar is made when rushes and other materials are fed into a machine and using heat in a low-oxygen environment, a low carbon product is created.
It can be used as a fertiliser or feed and the conference will also hear about its role within the construction industry and how it can have a benefit on a soil or slurry amendment.
The event will be held on Wednesday May 3rd in the Landmark Hotel Carrick-On-Shannon.
