It has been confirmed Valerie Duffy or Ger Grehan will take John Naughten's seat on Roscommon County Council.
They are the only candidates nominated to contest the selection convention in the Athlone Springs Hotel on February 20th at 7.30pm.
The deadline for nominations to be submitted has now passed, Fine Gael has confirmed.

Duffy is a community activist from Moore, while Grehan, from Taughmaconnell, ran in the 2019 local elections but was unsuccessful.
Naughten died last October after 20 years on the council.
