A local TD has said confusion around environmental legislation is hampering critical flood relief works across the country.
Former Minister Denis Naughten has called for a review of Irish legislation to eliminate any ambiguity for local authorities. Deputy Naughten recently addressed the Dáil where he raised concerns around flood relief works on the Shannon Callows as well as Lough Funshinagh. He said works to relieve pinch points on the Shannon had not progressed following the allocation of €7 million four years ago.
