The Conservative Party in the UK are on their last chance according to a Senior British Journalist and Roscommon Native.
Guardian Brexit Correspondent and Roscommon Town native, Lisa O'Carroll believes the Tories have one last chance to make things work before the expected 2024 election.
The newly announced Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak is facing his first full day in the role and his first Prime Minister's Questions in the House of Commons later.
The divisions in the party and the recent economic chaos has badly damaged voter confidence according to the senior journalist.
Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Lisa O'Carroll says they have one go left to try and survive the upcoming election
"They are on their last chance. The polls last week were exceptionally negative for them. One poll had them at 14 points. Labour, at one point, was 30 points ahead of them. They know this is their last chance to salvage the Tory Party and give them a chance at the next election because last week it looked like it was all over for them . They're not obliged to call an election but they will want to be putting a unified front forward for the next 2 years".
