Contraband worth over €200,000 seized in Athlone last week

Contraband worth over €200,000 were seized by Revenue officers in Athlone last week. Over 10 kilos of herbal cannabis worth €208,800 were discovered in a parcel in Athlone which had originally come from Spain. Separately, various quantities of other illicit drugs worth €26,000 were discovered while searching parcels at a premise in Dublin.

A quantity of retail goods worth €207,000 were also seized during the search. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
