Contractors have been appointed to the Sacred Heart Church Restoration project in Roscommon.
It includes remedial works to slating and lead valleys, replacement of bell supports, remedial works to the pinnacles of the church, and to the boiler house chimney.
Gerry Dervin and Co has been appointed as main contractor with PJ Moran as engineer.
It's expected the work will commence in June of this year.
Speaking to Shannonside FM chairperson of the restoration group Michael Connaughton thanked the public for their support.
"We raised in the region of €31,000 through voluntary subscriptions which is a fantastic figure when you consider all the other pressures that are on people with disposable income nowadays. We have a cost in the region of €100,000 but that is subject to change and hopefully it won't be. We're on the higher end of the estimate figure there, taking into account what we may or may not find when the scaffolding goes up".
