Contracts have been signed for a multi-million euro project in a west Roscommon town. The regeneration project in Ballaghaderreen will cost over 4 million euro with funding from Transport Infrastructure Ireland. Mayo-based O'Malley Contractors will be the main contractors for the project which is expected to take 16 months.
The works will include the upgrade of the streetscape and footpaths as well as a new traffic layout. Fine Gael Councillor Liam Callaghan has welcomed the news this week. Meanwhile, local election candidate Micheál Frain says the funding should be cause for optimism in the town:
