Residents of Longford, Limerick and Dublin were among the highest admissions to prison last year.
They had the biggest amounts of people jailed last year, per capita.
Longford had the highest rate, at 198 people per 100,000 population - which is over twice the national average.
Nationally, an average of 89 people 100,000 population were jailed in 2020.
Donegal, Mayo and Leitrim are the most law-abiding counties in Ireland.
They had the smallest amounts of people jailed last year based on population size.
