Public consultation on controversial Waterways byelaws has been extended.
The by-laws would include the reduction of mooring times, removal of winter mooring and a tax on businesses operating on the Shannon.
The initial consultation period has been extended to the 27th of October, having originally been due to close on the 2nd of October.
The bylaws have been the subject of a significant push back from members of the public and local representatives, who claims the introduction would damage local tourism.
Waterways Ireland aims to legitimate matters of concern raised during the public consultation process and re-issue an amended draft of the Byelaws.
