Plans for a new public park and gathering area in Athleague have gotten the go-ahead from Roscommon County Council.
An application by the Athleague Amenity Company Ltd calls for a half-a-hectare public park at the Fair Green including outdoor meeting space, playground and kickabout area.
The development will also see the creation of pedestrian paths around the park and entrances on the Western and South-Eastern boundaries.

The plans have been granted by Roscommon County Council with 8 conditions attached.
These include that the developer shall be responsible for repairs to any damage caused to the public road as a result of the works.
