Leitrim County Council are hoping to further engage with several dozen landowners along the planned route for a new blueway in the county.
The local authority is currently hosting a public consultation on plans for a new 11km walking and cycling link from Carrick-on-Shannon to Leitrim village.
The route involves a total of 60 parcels of land which will impact a total of 41 landowners; 35 of whom are private.
The walk and cycle path will be four metres wide and follows the path of the river Shannon north from Carrick with the planning application expected to be made to An Bord Pleanala next year.
A special in-person event will also take place on Thursday August 4th at the Bush Hotel from 10am-8pm and the Council is eager to meet as many people as possible to discuss the plans.
Senior engineer with Leitrim County Council Shay O Connor is hopeful more landowners will engage with the Council on the preferred route:
We have written out to them, we have offered them a number of days to meet face to face.
Now a third of them to date have taken up that offer.
We either had a meeting or are soon to do so.
We will be again contacting the two thirds who haven't come back.
We'd like to have a chat with them to explain what we are doing across their portion of land
You know, discuss maybe accommodation works and what effect they'll have on their land.
