A separate telecom company objected to the application stating the area had adequate space on existing masts locally

Planning permission for a new telecommunication tower in North Longford has been refused.  Towercom Limited were seeking the go ahead for the infrastructure at Eir Exchange, Barrack Lane in Granard. The plans include antennae, dishes and associated telecommunications equipment.

A submission on behalf of Cellnex Ireland Limited against the project, stated that demand for antennae space can be facilitated at their existing mast and alternative infrastructure is not needed.

Longford County Council refused the application this month under two conditions.
