Planning permission for a new telecommunications tower in Roscommon has been refused.
Roscommon County Council rejected the application on 3 conditions
The original application made to Roscommon County Council by Cignal Infrastructure Limited was made in November of last year.
Contained in the application was Retention Permission for a new wall and gated entrances and Permission to construct a 33-metre-high multi-use telecommunications tower at Ballindall Townland.
This structure would have a carrying antenna and dishes and would be contained within a 2.4 metre high fence, with an access road to the site included.
In their decision, Roscommon County Planners rejected the application on 3 conditions.
One of these conditions was that construction on the site would cause heavy traffic on the N60 and the proposed site access was not sufficient to accommodate large construction vehicles
The applicant has 28 days to appeal the decision
