Roscommon County Council is seeking a public relations firm to help revive the 'Roscommon Bound' concept which was first launched in 2019.
The tender for a contract worth up to €100,000 has been published this week, seeking expressions of interest from firms who can target and attract interest from the global Roscommon diaspora.
In December 2019, Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe launched the Roscommon Bound strategy, which centred on a Global Rossie day highlight the county as a great place to live, work, and to do business in. However, the pandemic affected the events planned for 2020 significantly and the concept is now being revived for 2023 with a key aim of encouraging people with Roscommon connections, or not, to either work remotely in Roscommon or promote the option to others whom they can influence to do so.

Documents published this week reveal that the local authority hopes to promote the county as a location for remote workers/businesses and to build on the network of Global Rossies to develop leaders/ambassadors in different parts of the world to promote the opportunity of remote working in the county. Several key groups are also set to be targeted by the campaign, including people who left the county before the year 2000, as well as emigrants form the 1980s and 1950s as well as 'Millennials Diaspora' and Tigerinfluenced' people
The campaign is to be prepared in the early months of next year before it is implemented between March and November. The process is expected to cost a total of €100,000 and the Council's closing date for expressions of interest is the 19th of December.]
