Longford County Council is to review the terms of the lease with the leaseholder of Michael Neary park in the town.
The grounds were used for the erection of a marquee earlier this month for a wedding, which was the subject of a court order for breach of Covid restrictions.
Three men responsible for the incident faced fines of €3,000 each, with the deadline for payment to the court listed as today.
At a sitting of Longford Circuit Court today, Judge Keenan Johnson was informed the family were only able to pay €650 euro of the combined €9,000 fine.
Those involved now have four months to pay the balance of the fines, with the matter returning before the court in October.
Officials say they will seek to discuss the continuation of the lease with the leaseholders following calls for councillors in the Longford Municipal District this week.
Councillor Seamus Butler believes the current arrangement cannot be allowed to continue:
