A South Leitrim Councillor has expressed his disappointment that a public consultation period for a major road project will not be extended beyond this month.
Councillors at this month's meeting of the Carrick-on-Shannon M.D were told that no further extension for consultation on this phase of the Carrick- Dromod road project is expected beyond June 25th.
Council Engineer Terry McGovern explained that the process was at stage two of eight and that there will be consultation at every juncture.
He also claimed that the 30-minute private meetings being organised by the ARUP Consulting design team was better than people together in a hall and it will be ultimately An bord Pleanla who will make the final decision on the project.
