A local Councillor has responded to concerns over the placing of refugees in a Leitrim Town.
There were reports that refugee accommodation in Dromahair was blockaded by protestors last week.
Garda in Leitrim have confirmed that they attended a public gathering on Friday the 24th of November and are carrying out inquiries into reports of public roads being blocked as part of the demonstration.
Leitrim For All, a group recently formed to welcome refugees to the county, yesterday branded the protest as not representative of the Leitrim people.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Fianna Fail Councillor Mary Bohan says there concerns locally about the capacity of services to deal with an influx of people.
