A Fianna Fáil councillor says Senator Eugene Murphy should have been added to its general election ticket in Roscommon-Galway.
The party rejected the Scramogue man's request to run alongside Ballygar GP Martin Daly, who narrowly beat him in a selection convention.
Senator Murphy is now considering running as an Independent in the three-seat constituency.
Councillor Seán Moylan, from Tulsk, believes a two-candidate strategy would have been the best option - but he's promising to get behind Dr Daly in his campaign.
