Vulnerable residents in Mohill are being subjected to outrageous attacks and intimidation, according to a councillor. Des Guckian also claims defenceless tenants have been forced to leave their homes. Independent councillor Guckian will raise this issue at a meeting of Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District this morning. He will call on the council's housing department and the Gardaí to come together to end what he calls outrageous attacks and intimidation of vulnerable residents in Mohill.
He will claim this antisocial behaviour has reached very serious proportions in the Treanmore Estate, where windows have been smashed in. He will say the burning of houses and the slashing of tyres have been threatened. Councillor Guckian will say some vulnerable and defenceless tenants have been forced out. He will say this has been going on for a long time and cannot be ignored any longer.
