Two Roscommon councillors are demanding emergency safety measures to be put in place at a 'dangerous' local junction.
Cathaoirleach of Roscommon Municipal District Larry Brennan and Councillor Marty McDermott have been calling for a safety inspection to be carried out at the Ballinaboy Cross on the Roscommon/Lanesboro Road junction (N63 with L1806).
Seven collisions have occurred at the junction over the last six months including one this morning, with no injuries reported.
The two councillors say improved signage could work as a short-term solution.
