A recently applied for strategic housing development in Longford is raising concerns among local councillors.
John McCarthy is seeking to construct 100 housing units at Bloomfield Park on the Bracklin Road in Edgeworthstown.
The homes would comprise of 50 houses and 50 apartments in multi-storey buildings.
At this months meeting of the Ballymahon Municipal District several local councillors raised their objections to the plans.
They claim the size of the development is unsuitable for the rural town and that smaller projects have already been refused over waste water treatment capacity issues.
Close to 30 submissions have already been made to An Bord Pleanála over the plans.
