A head coach at the Olympian Boxing Club in Galway says he believes Lisa O' Rourke could win her World Championship semi-final in Turkey this afternoon.
Michael Mongan has been working with the 20 year old Castlerea woman since October of last year and says she's made amazing progress in recent times.
Lisa won her fight against an Armenian woman comfortably earlier this week, but is up against a favoured Turkish opponent this afternoon.
She and her sister Aoife travel to the Olympic boxing Club in Galway twice or three times a week as part of their training schedule, and Lisa has also maintained her involvement with Roscommon Ladies Football.
Her Galway coach says she is in very good form right now, and is constantly looking ahead to the next challenge.
''Both girls have similar stance. I'm tipping Lisa and that that's not being biased is she's just coming on leaps and bound she's get better with every time and even through the Europeans and through the World Championships she's grown in confidence. Her ability has always been there but she's grown in confidence in every fight. She's looking forward to it. I spoke to her a couple of nights ago and it hasn't really sunk into her but at all she's saying is just onto the next one. So I believe on that line. So she's not looking past anybody but she's well up for Turk.''
