Covid-19 cases in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon continue to fall

Weekly Covid-19 cases across the Shannonside Northern Sound region have dropped week on week according to new figures from the CSO.

However, while most counties are seeing reduced levels of confirmed cases, Monaghan has seen its positive case rate double in the last week.

Leitrim and Longford are both seeing significant drops in new cases when compared to last week, down 45 per cent.

Confirmed cases of Covid-19 dropped in Cavan and Roscommon by 7 per cent each over the previous 7 days.

Nationally, cases have fallen by an average of 21 per cent this week
