The 14 day incidence rate of Covid-19 infections in Longford continues to grow, with the county currently over three times the national average.
Updated figures from the Department of Health show the situation in Longford worsening over the last two weeks, with 174 new cases of the virus reported within the last 14 days.
Longford Municipal District is currently recorded as having a Covid-19 incidence rate close to five times the national average at 567, with 91 cases of the virus reported in the last 14 days.
That's followed by a rate of 381 and 54 new cases locally in Ballymahon Municipal District over the last two weeks.
Granard local electoral area currently has an incidence rate of 271 and has recorded 29 new cases in the last fortnight.
The picture looks better in Roscommon with 62 positive cases of the virus reported, with the Boyle MD recording an incidence rate of 105.
That's followed by the Athlone Municipal District with a rate of 100 and the Roscommon MD at 83.
Leitrim is currently recording the lowest rate of Covid-19 transmission with a 14 day incidence rate of infection of just 43.
The Manorhamilton local electoral area has the highest incidence rate in the county at 64, followed by Carrick-on-Shannon and Ballinamore MDs at 52 and 50 respectively.
Just 18 people in Leitrim were confirmed to have the virus over the last two weeks.
