A Longford school principal says more teenagers are seeking a Covid 19 vaccination to be eligible for sporting and other activities.
Declan Rowley of St Mel's College in Longford says that as yet there's little evidence that the mid term break has resulted in more young people being absent from school due to Covid 19.
He says that the system of contact tracing earlier in the term had seen over 200 students out of school after being identified as a close contact with just one positive result.
Declan Rowley says the social distancing, sanitisation and mask wearing in schools is working well together with the vaccination programme for the over 12s.
On today's Let's Talk, he outlined that protocols in place by other organisation re vaccination certs are prompting more young people to get vaccinated.
