The number of Covid patients in local hospitals has dropped by almost 10 per cent over the last week.
That's according to new figures from the HSE and part of a national drop of 16 per cent.
However, ICU admissions to regional hospitals have jumped by a third.
120 people are Covid positive in local hospitals today, a drop of 11 on last weeks figure.
Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar saw the biggest drop over the last 7 days, with 8 patients being released, leaving 19 in Covid wards including 3 in ICU.
Our Lady's Hospital in Drogheda has the highest levels across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region, with 32 Covid positive patients on-site, down from 38 last week.
Its ICU capacity has also seen just one bed become available in the last week, with 8 patients currently receiving treatment for the virus.
22 patients are confirmed to have the virus in GUH, with the bed and ICU levels remaining much the same as last week.
Positive Covid cases among patients in Cavan increased over the last week from 13 to 16, while Tullamore has seen their numbers stay the same.
Numbers in Portiuncula Hospital Ballinasloe and Sligo have stabilized and remained somewhat the same at 10 and seven respectively, with 4 people undergoing treatment in the Ballinasloe hospital's ICU.
Nationally, there are 578 Covid positive patients in Irish Hospitals as of this morning - compared to 685 last Monday.
