The Covid incidence rate in local electoral areas across the Shannonside region shows significant reductions once again this week, with all but one area showing clear downward trends.
The south Longford area taking in Ballymahon and surrounds shows 36 cases reported in the last fortnight from January 20th to the 1st of February and that number was the same for the previous two weeks with another 36 cases recorded then.
Cases in the north Longford area taking in Granard and surrounds show a reduction of ten new cases on the previous period with 43 recorded in the last two weeks.
The mid Longford area also shows the number of new cases down from 80 last time compared to 61 in the latest figures.
The Athlone electoral area in south Roscommon has the lowest incidence rate in the Shannonside counties recorded at 120, representing 24 new cases since the 19th of January.
New case numbers have also continued to drop in north Roscommon where the Boyle LEA recorded 38 in the last two weeks dropping from 79 last time.
59 new cases were reported for the mid Roscommon area, compared to 113 the previous week.
The new cases in the Ballinamore area in Leitrim are 15 down from 31, and in Carrick-on-Shannon 18 new cases have bene recorded in the last two weeks down from 24 in the last figures.
