The HSE has said a Covid-19 test centre should be operational again in Carrick-on-Shannon in the coming weeks.
The news comes following some concern that no facility was available in the county and some people had to travel long distances to access a test for the virus.
A testing facility which had closed in Longford was re-opened in recent weeks.
In response to a query on Carrick-on-Shannon the HSE said a location in the area has been identified and works will be undertaken to prepare the location to operate as a Community Testing Centre.
Carrick-on-Shannon based councillor Finola Armstrong-Maguire says it's important that the testing process is made as easy as possible for people.
She says she hopes the new test centre will be available as soon as possible.
