League Two side Crawley Town shocked premier league side Leeds United with a 3-0 win at the Broadfield Stadium in their FA Cup third round tie.
Nick Tsaroulla, playing only his seventh game in senior football, opened the scoring for Crawley on 50 minutes.
United keeper Kiko Casilla's error allowed Ashley Nadesan to double the lead three minutes later, before Jordan Tunnicliffe added a third for Crawley, who could have won by more.
While Chelsea beat Morecambe 4-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Mason Mount, Timo Werner Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz.
And Manchester City sailed past Birmingham to advance to the next round with a 3-0 win at the Etihad where Bernardo Silva found the back of the net twice as well as Phil Foden.
Elsewhere, Barnsley beat Tranmere Rovers 2-0, Bristol City overcame Portsmouth 2-1 at Ashton Gate while Cheltenham beat Mansfield Town 2-1 after extra time.
While, Tottenham made short work of their meeting with non-league Marine as Carlos Vinicius scored a 13-minute hat-trick with goals from Lucas Moura and Alfie Devine seeing spurs to a 5-0 win.
Meanwhile Premier League Brighton and Hove Albion needed penalties to advance past league two’s Newport County.
Solly March had put Brighton ahead in the final minute of the game, but Newport equalised in the sixth minute of injury time as goal keeper Jason Steele spilled a cross which Adam Webster could only turn into his own net.
Webster and Steele went from villain’s to hero in the penalty shootout as Steele saved four penalties with Webster converting the sudden death penalty as Brighton won out 4-3.
The draw for the fourth and fifth round of the FA Cup takes place tomorrow evening.
