AIB reversed its decision to move to cashless outlets after a public outcry, but has left people feeling like they need more options.

Credit Unions should be made into viable options for business banking according to the well known businessman.

If members approve the merger will take place in February 2023.

The two financial institutions are hoping to combine to make a larger unit in the region.

The closure of the local Bank of Ireland left the town without a 24 hour cash service last October

There is a growing call for credit unions to be allowed fill the vacuum left by banks removing services in Ireland.

The town had been left without an ATM following the closure of Bank of Ireland.

The Credit Union is holding its AGM online on next Wednesday evening and anyone who wants to be involved needs to register by 5 o' clock on this Sunday evening.
