Families in the Shannonside region who have a lost a loved one to Sudden Cardiac Death are being made aware of a new support helpline.
CRY Ireland supports bereaved families and those affected by the diagnosis of a cardiac condition.
The new helpline, which is available on 1800 714 080, is open to anyone who is grieving or affected.
Family Support Programme Coordinator at CRY, Elaine Whelan, says the death of young people in a family leaves a huge void and people need support
"When someone young and fit dies suddenly, that leaves a huge void and so much anxiety and fear for those left behind. That's why we're here today, to spread awareness that we're here, we're there to support you on that journey of living with that lifestyle change and diagnosis of living with this condition".
