Just 193 of local cattle herds out of over 10,000 were restricted following Bovine TB testing in the first quarter of the year.
Figures released from the CSO show close to two percent of herds in the Shannonside Region were restricted at the end of April this year.
According to the Central Statistics Office, there are 10, 386 cattle herds in Leitrim , Longford and Roscommon, comprising of 377,600 animals.
Over the course of the first four months of the year, 3,139 herds were tested locally including 1,616 in Roscommon, 839 in Leitrim and 684 herds in Longford.
Those tests resulted in an incidence rate of close to 5 percent in Longford, with Roscommon and Leitrim seeing positivity rates of between 1.5 and 3 percent.
93 cattle herds in Roscommon were restricted following evidence of TB, while 72 herds were the subject of TB measures in Longford.
Leitrim saw just 28 herds restricted at the end of the first quarter of the year.
Longford and Roscommon saw an increase in the number of herds restricted, with Leitrim seeing a slight decrease.
