Roscommon County Council is to "take back" a space it had designated for entrepreneurship and innovation at its Civic H.Q.
Chief executive Eugene Cummins expressed disappointment at the low level of interest in 'The Cube' - which was located on the bottom floor of the Aras an Chontae building.
He explained at last month's meeting of Roscommon County Council that the local authority will need additional space for extra staff it intends to hire later this year, in areas such as housing, active travel and climate change, and the Local Enterprise Office will take over the space.
He told the meeting that the project, which was launched in 2017, wasn't as successful as he thought it might be and the "take up was poor" and outlined additional areas where people could access high-speed internet were now available in the county.
The move was criticised by Councillor Orla Leyden, but John Keogh says the Council had no option but to support plans to make space available for extra staff:
