A large curlew made from willow will be returned to its place of display in Drumshanbo today.
The structure created by Donegal artist Brendan Farren, was installed on a green area close to the Mayflower Community Centre on the Manorhamilton road almost two weeks ago by the Curlew Conservation Programme, to raise awareness of the threat to the species.
It was removed at the weekend but was recovered by a local person who brought it to a safe location and alerted the authorities.
It was not damaged and will be reinstalled by the local Community Employment scheme today, where it will stay for the next number of weeks before being moved to another region.
Sinn Fein Councillor Brendan Barry says it's a relief that it wasn't damaged and can be returned quickly.
