With only 68 rentable houses listed on Daft.ie across the entire Shannonside Northern Sound region, students are increasingly troubled by the lack of available accomodation.

These new figures reveal that Leitrim is the cheapest county in Ireland to rent in the country.

Daft.ie's new report shows the average price of a home nationally is just under 310-thousand euro.

In April 2022 there were 273 house listings in Roscommon however 12 months later this stood at 228.

The report shows an average increase of between 17 and 20% across the Shannonside counties

The report also shows that house prices fell for the first time in the decade over the first three months of this year
