The Government's been accused of making a 'pantomime' of the so called 'turf wars'.
A vote will take place tonight on a Sinn Fein motion to scrap plans to ban the sale and distribution of turf from September.
Environment Minister Eamon Ryan has been under fire from his coalition colleagues over the move which he insists will not impact those who cut their own turf or gift or sell it on to neighbours in small rural communities.
Fine Gael TD for East Galway Ciaran Cannon is opposed to the ban and says there simply aren't affordable options for those used to burning turf.
