Dan Leavy has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
The Leinster flanker had only returned from a 19-month absence in October with Leinster saying “Leavy had a procedure to repair cartilage in his knee which will keep him out of action for the rest of the season”.
Elsewhere; Rory O’Loughlin and Tommy O’Brien have both to training following respective shoulder and ankle injuries and are expected to be due to face Dragons on Friday.
Meanwhile Michael Bent and Scott Penny have both returned to training following neck injuries but will require further assessment this week. Adam Byrne will look to increase his training involvement this week after recovering from a hamstring issue.
Caelan Doris flagged some concussive symptoms while in camp with Ireland and he returned to Leinster Rugby to further investigate those symptoms.
Jimmy O’Brien (hamstring), Conor O’Brien (knee), Max Deegan (knee) and Vakh Abdaladze (back) are all unavailable for Friday’s match.
