A Roscommon woman is questioning the decision of the HSE to move several older residents from a nursing home in Roscommon to other facilities several miles away during the present Covid pandemic.
Bridie's mother, who's almost 90, was admitted to the Sacred Heart Home in Roscommon town just days before the Covid lockdown began.
The Roscommon woman says she and her family are shocked to be told their mother is going to be moved to a HSE facility in Castlerea or Ballinasloe for three months while fire safety works are carried out.
Residents are expected to be moved at the end of next month.
Bridie says the news came as a complete shock to her on Monday of this week when she was talking her mother through a window in the home and they were both told of the plans.
Speaking on the Let's Talk show this afternoon the Roscommon woman says that with Covid-19 still very much a threat she's worried about her mothers welfare and whether she would be moved back after three months.
Bridie also says they've no idea of what kind of place her mother is to be moved to...
