Day services for older people will resume at The Sacred Heart Hospital in Roscommon from next month.
The facility closed its doors over two years ago due to the pandemic and has gradually returned over the past six months.
However, the HSE confirmed today that the service will open for all users at the beginning of March.
Roscommon TD Denis Naughten is welcoming the announcement and believes it will be a big relief to many older people and their families.
He says it's now important for the facility to remain open for the long term.
