The death has been announced of former Boyle Town Commissioner and Town Councillor Peter Flannery.
Mr Flannery who was a member of the Fianna Fail party was elected first to Boyle Town Council in 2004, and after that to Boyle Town Commissioners, before they were abolished in 2014.
He was a lifelong member of Fianna Fail and was a major GAA supporter in his local area.
He was also closely involved for many years with St Joseph’s Hall and the Green Street residents group.
Peter Flannery will be laid to rest on Wednesday morning in Assylinn Cemetery following funeral mass in St Josephs Church.
