This latest release from the CSO shows the number of homes in each electoral area that use the Housing Assistance Payment scheme
HAP is a form of social housing support provided by all local authorities.
Under HAP, local councils can provide housing assistance to households with a long-term housing need,
New figures show that the Granard area now has the lowest number of HAP scheme homes nationally at 32.
It also experienced one of the biggest percentage changes from 2021 into 2022, dropping 15.8%.
Ballymahon has 111 homes in the scheme, down from 118 compared to 2021, while Longford dropped to 182.
In Roscommon, Boyle has the most HAP houses with 237 while Roscommon experienced the lowest percentage drop in the region at 1.2% to 168.
Athlone in Co.Roscommon has 70 houses on the scheme, down 14.6% compared with the same time in 2021
Both Carrick-on-Shannon and Ballinamore experienced decreases of 11.3% and 14.1% respectively.
It brings the total number of homes on the Housing Assistance Payment to 981, a decrease on the 2021 number of 1,065.
