Almost 80 people were accessing emergency accommodation across the Shannonside Northern Sound region in October. It comes as the Monthly Homeless Report for October was released last week. The Monthly Homeless Report for last month has outlined a total of 71 people accessing emergency accommodation across the region.
Longford was the county with the highest number of homeless people at 24, followed by a combined figure of 23 in counties Monaghan and Cavan. Twelve people were accessing emergency dwellings in Leitrim and Roscommon respectively. The figures come at a decrease of almost 7 per cent from September's numbers, which stood at 76. The monthly report found a total of 9,188 homeless people across the country.
