Appointments have been made to the governing body of the new Technological University of the Shannon, Midlands, Midwest.

Remote learning will still feature this semester with students taking part in a mix of in-person and online classes.

It's hoped new opportunities provided by the TUI will stop the skill drain from rural Ireland.

Plans include a new classroom.

It's planned that the new variants of classrooms contained in the works will allow the college to expand its curriculum when they come online.
